Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a motivated Transportation/Traffic Engineer for immediate employment within our Multi-modal Department in the Austin, TX office. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate prior experience and relevant project work in the transportation engineering and traffic engineering projects. The position provides the opportunity to work on exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects.

Work will consist of conducting traffic analysis and studies, traffic engineering design, preparing technical reports and other duties as required. Successful candidates will be based out of the Austin office and may work in client office. Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in teams to advance projects under the supervision ofProject Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Traffic impact analyses for small and large scale projects.

  • Design on new or modifications to existing traffic signals.

  • Roadway signing and striping.

  • Construction traffic control plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering studies and design.

  • PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment or on-site client office environment.

  • Design experience with: traffic signals, roadway lighting, roadway signing and striping, and traffic control plan.

  • Should have a working knowledge of MICROSTATION and SYNCHRO.

  • Experience conducting traffic impact analyses for both large and small projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with municipal governments.

  • Hands on experience with traffic operations analysis software, Synchro/HCS , VISSIM a plus.

  • Experience with project/task management and is able to act as Deputy to assist Project Manager.
