Senior Systems manage the design and delivery of the Xerox portfolio of office printers and multifunction devices which print, copy, fax and scan.
The Senior Systems Engineers work with Product Planning to define features and performance requirements, integrate the hardware and software modules from various suppliers and lead the resolution of complex problems.
Some typical responsibilities and activities are listed below. Collaborate with Product Planning, engine supplier, controller supplier, remote services team, solutions team and other teams to plan and deliver the features and performance the product requires.
Lead the resolution of complex, system-level problems that involve interactions between the product hardware and software, Xerox back-office systems and the customer environment. Analyze various solutions to problem in terms of customer and financial impact and recommend best option. Integrate deliveries from engine supplier, controller supplier, Global Remote Services, Solutions, Drivers and others to ensure that full system is fully tested and meets requirements.
This requires close collaboration with the various delivery teams and test teams. Monitor performance of launched products to ensure they are meeting their reliability and run cost goals. When problems are detected, lead the resolution in collaboration with Xerox and supplier engineering teams, business team and customer support team. Analyze data from current products and knowledge of new features, designs and technology to forecast reliability of new products.
B.S. Engineering – mechanical, electrical, computer science Black Belt or Design for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt desired 5 yrs experience in product delivery, either in systems engineering or subsystem / module delivery Good analytical skills and the ability to array facts, data and analysis clearly and succinctly Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to various suppliers and multiple Xerox orgs as part of product delivery and problem solving Domestic and international travel is occasionally required
