The Director, Product Management focuses on the business aspects of one or more products, including market relevance (or marketability - does it meet the need), product performance, profitability, pricing, market trends, competitive offerings, strategic planning and product promotion. Awareness of how the product fits within other product offerings, positioning to the market and lifecycle transitions are key elements of the role.
