The Category Manager is responsible for the assigned specific strategic, merchandise categories; they have the full scope of responsibility for attaining budgeted sales, gross margin,and building market share within the category. The position operates within the Merchandising area and oversees the jobs of an Assistant Category Manager and a Merchandising secretary to achieve the Merchandising objectives as it relates to the Strategic plan. Developing and implementing category strategic plans i.e., weekly, seasonal and annual merchandising programs.
