JOB DESCRIPTION

The Education Products Group (EdPG) is chartered with Microsoft’s product direction for students, educators, and educational institutions. We are incubating long term acceleration of quality learning outcomes and teaching around the world. Our portfolio of offerings will extend in the next year to address students and educators as individual consumers, educational institutions and our educational partner ecosystem.
As a Senior Product Marketing Manager you will be the central owner of demand generation for one of our products and a contributor to the successful marketing of all EdPG products and initiatives. You will be responsible for developing messaging, naming, campaign strategies and all forms of market demand creation and influence working through and with agencies. You will have to work equally well as a creative individual contributor, a negotiator with agencies and a director of work done through agencies and others. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, has the ability to multi-task and is results-orientated.
Your responsibilities include:
Marketing Leadership - Create and rationalize the best marketing programs to reach a specific education audience with existing and new products, services, and solutions
Creative Leadership - Working with agencies, drive creative approaches to influencing, driving awareness, trial, visits (traffic) and retention to our web presence
Agency/vendor Management - Effectively manage and partner with agencies on creative and marketing planning and execution
Budgetary Management - Manage marketing budgets to provide maximum “bang for the buck” across all marketing vehicles and groups
Personal Contributions - Personally drive elements of the marketing mix closest to your skill set, interests, and the needs of the target and business
Success in this job requires:
Strong marketing instincts, fundamentals, and tools
Demonstrated creative skills in Marketing - ranging from conception to execution of resourceful and integrated campaigns
Ability to partner effectively with outside Agencies and Vendors - knowing when to direct, when to cooperate, when to say “no”, and how to negotiate towards success
Willingness to contribute as an individual contributor who adds value, as well as an “outsourcer” of marketing to agencies and vendors
Strong prioritization skills to juggle various projects across target audiences
Creativity around how to drive a critical mass of Student traffic to our planned central Web presence
Qualifications include:
5+ years of marketing experience
Solid strategic thinker and contributor
Agency experience or aptitude for working with agencies and vendors
Ability and experience to proactively track and benchmark program effectiveness
Self-confidence and self-direction to work independently
Commitment to life work balance
BS/BA required
