JOB DESCRIPTION
Basic Qualifications:
- PharmD, PhD, MD, DO (other Doctorate Degrees may be considered)
- 3 or more years of Clinical Development and/or Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of Clinical Development and/or Medical Affairs experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Previous Medical Communications experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company in the area of nephrology and kidney diseases
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across geographic regions and functions
- Experience executing Medical Communications projects (disease state and therapeutic education programs, advisory boards, congress plans, and Regional Medical Liaison resources)
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, project planning, and presentation skills
- Expertise in the development and implementation of Medical Communications best practices, understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process, knowledge of the legal and regulatory guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products, an ability to critically analyze scientific literature and form logical opinions, and knowledge and understanding of relevant clinical and therapeutic issues
Reporting to the Epogen Medical Communications Director, the Sr. Manager is responsible for providing scientifically rigorous and high impact support of Scientific Affairs activities. The position will support coordination and implementation of programs and materials that support global medical strategies for EPOGEN®. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: providing clinical and strategic input to Global Development and Global Commercial Organizations; managing cross functional teams responsible for coordinating and implementing Medical Communications projects for the Nephrology Therapeutic Area; providing clinical support of key scientific congresses and meetings; creating resources for Regional Medical Liaisons (RMLs); leading advisory boards; participating in task forces on competitive and market issues; managing budget and resources (including strategic vendors) associated with various projects; and reviewing field-based promotional and educational materials for appropriate interpretation of clinical data. Some travel required, approximately 5% - 10%.
