Senior Product Manager, Analytics - Redwood City, CA
The Senior Product Manager will effectively lead a cross-functional Product Development team to ensure timely delivery of complex, high-quality enterprise Analytics applications. He or she will have responsibility for managing both inbound and outbound aspects of one or more products in our Application suite. This position requires a highly intelligent, hands-on product manager with excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success. The candidate will work with world-class product managers and product developers, an outstanding sales organization, and Fortune 500 customers. This position reports to a Vice President of Product Management.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Developing the product roadmap for our Analytics products that are closely aligned with the requirements of the customers
• Working closely with customers and prospects to define product requirements
• Working closely with Product Managers in order to ensure horizontal alignment of strategy and tactics for Analytics offerings
• Writing requirements documents and functional specifications
• Working closely with Product Architects to ensure Analytics product architecture is aligned with the product direction and strategy
• Working closely with Product Development to ensure delivery of high quality product, in accordance with the specifications
• Understanding the competitive environment in detail
• Interfacing with the Sales and Business Development teams as the product and subject matter expert
• Crafting product messaging and positioning, collateral, demos, presentations and other sales tools
• Training customer facing staff and partners
Minimum Requirements:
• 5-10 years of business experience
• 3-5 years of Product Management experience in a leading enterprise analytics software company (BI, ERP, CRM, SCM, Pricing Management, etc.).
• Experience managing at least one new to market product through the entire product lifecycle
• Written multiple MRDs and detailed Functional Specifications.
• Crafted product messaging, collateral, demos, presentations and other sales tools.
• Experience pitching product in pre-sales situations.
• Willingness to travel 10-30% of the time, depending on the timing of the product cycle.
Desired Qualifications:
• Technical or Business Undergraduate Degree
• MBA from top-tier school
• Knowledge of Pricing, Contract Management, ERP, CRM or analytics applications
