JOB DESCRIPTION

Position overview:


 


The Marketing Manager will play an important role in the development and execution of the marketing strategy and annual marketing plan with a focus on achieving the brand’s short-term business objectives.  S/he will be responsible for understanding market needs for a diverse customer base including physicians, nurses, third party payors, and consumers, though primary focus with be on health care professionals. 


 


 


 


 


 


JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES


 


 


 


Marketing Planning/Strategy


 


 


 





  • Participate in the development and evaluation of marketing strategy, based on customer needs, insights and market dynamics



  • Assist in development of annual marketing plan



  • Forecast insulin pump and disposable market



  • Develop pricing strategies including reimbursement ramifications



  • Develop and manage budget to align with marketing plan



  • Identify appropriate metrics to measure success, and monitors outcomes against metrics




 


 


 


Product Management


 


 


 





  • Ensure market-focused product design and development



  • Translate customer needs/wants into product features and functional specifications



  • Drive product development process from initial concept to implementation; act as liason between our customers and our internal R&D/Engineering Teams



  • Lead the development of product packaging and product labeling



  • Work with customer support to monitor customer satisfaction, unmet needs and recommend product enhancements as needed




 


 


 


Promotion/Advertising


 


 


 





  • Develop brand advertising message and communication strategy



  • Lead development of marketing programs and materials focused on health care professionals



  • Participate in development of marketing programs and materials focused on consumers and managed care



  • Lead the selection, development and implementation of trade show programs (ADA, AADE, AACE, etc.)



  • Evaluate marketing programs to ensure ROI



  • Assist with sales force training on use of materials



  • Develop relationships with diabetes educators, endocrinologists, and industry professionals worldwide.  Support interaction and develop relationships with members of our MAB and CDE Board



  • Participate in the development and implementation of brand public relations




 


 


 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements


 


 


 


Knowledge / Education


 





  • Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred



  • Strong understanding of diabetes, 2-4 years experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical category preferred



  • Basic knowledge of reimbursement within 3rd Party Payors, Medicare and Medicaid



  • Understanding of primary and secondary market research techniques, experienced consumer of market research



  • Proven ability to analyze market dynamics



  • Understanding of Advamed promotional guidelines for medical devices




 


 


 


Experience


 


 


 


Minimum of 6-8 years work experience in Product Management or Marketing Management


 


Ideal candidate would also have basic sales experience within the health care environment (physician office, pharmacy, managed care).  Experience managing product managers preferred.

  • Experience in start-up or small company environment, ability to wear multiple hats



  • Vendor Management Experience Required



  • Web-saavy, understanding of new media



  • PC skill, word processing, spreadsheet, database
