The Vice President, Marketing & Communications will be responsible for the direction and management of the corporate communications and marketing function.

This position will direct policies and programs and set objectives for all product and service marketing activities for the organization including market research, product planning, advertising, brand management, creative editorial and design services, and internal communications to accomplish organization objectives.

This role will counsel and partner with top management on communication strategies, media relations issues and advertising programs. In addition, The Vice President, Marketing & Communications oversees the operational prioritization and planning processes for the corporation.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

As a member of Management Committee provide a framework for development of corporate strategy and policy development; provide input and influence corporate strategy. Partner with business leaders to create an enterprise-wide strategy for product development and product management, identifying synergies between divisional products with products of other operating divisions.  Develop and implement an enterprise wide customer experience strategy to enhance customer retention and service.

Oversee officer-level staff in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a long-term customer-focused marketing strategy for the company including brand management and e-business. Develop market research to inform the creation of the SFG corporate strategy.

Oversee officer-level staff in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Marketing Services function, including Advertising and Promotion, Creative Services, Sales Support and Customer Marketing platforms.

Ensure consistency and integration of internal communications with external messaging. Build internal alignment and promote organization wide understanding of corporate objectives, initiatives and programs, to achieve greater employee effectiveness and engagement. Act as key adviser to CEO and other business leaders on internal communications.

Job Specifications:

1. Education: MBA or other advanced degree in related field

2. Experience: 15 years working experience in Strategic Marketing and Communications, with significant portion of time (4+) in Financial Services; Senior leadership experience managing officer-level team and partnering with executive level peers in sponsoring complex, cross functional initiatives and change or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
