Standard & Poor’s is seeking a Director of Brand Management. This position is based in New York City.  The director is responsible for providing strategic support and guidance to S&P marketing and product management professionals involved in the development of marketing materials, including advertising, collateral, social media, direct marketing, events and promotional initiatives.  The director will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of global marketing programs at the corporate, business unit and regional levels of Standard & Poor’s, while preserving the integrity and growing the value of the Standard & Poor’s family of brands.  The incumbent will serve as a central liaison with internal and external constituents (design, production, etc.) involved in the creation and production of marketing communications materials; assist in key marketing initiatives, help develop innovative and creative ways to market products and services and S&P’s brands; and ensure all marketing communications materials adhere to brand identity guidelines.  In addition, the director will help train and educate company employees and external vendors about the Standard & Poor’s brand positioning. The director will manage the established stable of external vendors and help expand the range of resources available to the company.  The successful candidate will be able to establish strong working relationships as an integral team member in the Standard & Poor’s Marketing & Communications Department, contributing to the growth and value of the organization.  


 


Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree required.  MBA preferred

  • A minimum of 7 years branding and marketing communications experience, preferably including business-to-business and financial services.

  • Previous experience in corporate brand building

  • Experience in developing or implementing social media programs

  • Combination of agency and client-side experience preferred

  • Strong strategic planning skills and experience

  • Demonstrated creative problem solving capabilities

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skill, including strong public presentation skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
