The Communication Leader will be responsible for: defining the strategy and approach, developing detailed plans, and managing the delivery of all global IT communications. Serves as a bridge between IT communication roles and Cargill Corporate Affairs to ensure consistency in methodology and approach, shared objectives for overall employee communications across Cargill and career paths for communication professionals.   The leader will be an integral part of the IT change management team.  The leader will be responsible for managing a team of communication professionals.
 
40% Develops the global communications strategy that serves as the framework to effectively communicate with targeted stakeholder groups (i.e. IT team, Cargill leadership, Cargill employees, etc.)
 
30% Assesses ongoing needs and determines scope of communication activities and acquires/assigns appropriate resources to execute, both globally and regionally.  Manages the execution of these communication activities through rigorous project management
 
20% Supports overall organizational readiness by aligning communication strategy with change and education activities and identifying opportunities for collaboration to use resources efficiently
 
10% Provides communication counsel to IT leadership team and fosters an environment of transparent two-way dialogue between leaders and employees.  Builds-in appropriate measurement opportunities to allow continual improvement and ongoing actions to ensure continued, sustainable results.Required: 

• BS, BA in journalism or equivalent, communications, marketing, public relations, English or related field
• Excellent written and oral communications skills - clear, concise, creative and persuasive
• Keen analytical and strategic planning skills
• Strong coaching skills, influencing skills and experience working in a communications counselor capacity
• 10 + plus years experience as a communications professional
• Experience and confidence in advising Sr. Leaders
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
• Effective project management skills
• Change Management - Experience leading through change initiatives
• Experience leading communications during a large-scale organizational change (most critical skill)
• Demonstrated strong collaborative skills
• Business Fluency in English
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred:

• Strong business experience and understanding of Cargill
• Experience in helping to support and foster effective communications within a large, complex, global organization
• Ability to source and manage communication vendors
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
• Project or consulting work experience
