JOB DESCRIPTION
VICE PRESIDENT SALES & MARKETING
Function:
New York Air Brake (NYAB) is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing who will be responsible for the Marketing and Sales function of the Freight & Locomotive Strategic Business Unit of Knorr Brake Holding Corporation comprising: New York Air Brake Corporation, Knorr Brake Limited and Anchor Brake Shoe Company, LLC (“SBU”). This position requires strong leadership ability to direct and build a strong marketing organization to support and assure the expected growth of the SBU.
Strategic Planning and Execution: 30%
• Develop and implement sales and product strategies for markets, products and services targeted by the SBU business mission (Freight-Car and Locomotive OEM, Spares/Repairs, new railway technology)
• Drive market share and profitability through analysis and target setting: profitability analysis of current product lines, penetration and profitability by customer, new products/programs, new markets, price strategies.
• Develop and drive strategies to grow existing product lines both domestically and internationally.
• Identify and develop joint venture, licensing and teaming opportunities to supplement domestic growth and profitability.
• Develop assessment tools for measuring and improving the performance of the sales organization.

Management Leadership: 30%
• Participate in the development and management of the SBU as part of the senior management team.
• Build Marketing /Sales and field service organization through the implementation of an effective organizational structure, recruiting training and appropriate development and compensation programs.
• Manage Sales/Marketing budge of approximately $6.5M
Customer Relations: 25%
• Establish and enhance customer relationships with freight-car and locomotive builders, railroads, fleet owners and operators.
• Negotiate and close business agreements with key customers and partners.
• Support international KB affiliates to maximize sales growth of SBU and KB Group in international markets.
Forecasting and budgeting:15%
• Provide reliable locomotive, freight-car and spares forecasts and models to support the planning process.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field
7 years of job related experience, 5 years of supervisory experience.
(Desired: MS in Engineering Field or MBA; 10 or more years of experience; 10 or more years of supervisory experience)
