JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:


Searching for a self-starter to create a compelling year-round offering of education and hot topic webinars for its members and the larger IT industry. 


The Manager, Online Events primary responsibilities will include:



  • Developing and implementing guidelines and protocol for conducting webinars; stakeholder outreach; posting presentations and discussions; streamlining the current webinar process to get further outreach and participation; administrative and logistical support of scheduling, registering and follow-up with speakers for each web cast; and facilitating webinars by setting up the technological aspects and assisting presenters with the use of web conference technology.


PLEASE NOTE – This is not a Meeting Planner position.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Research market potential for webinar to determine if idea is worth pursuing

  • Stay ahead of advances and tends in the IT market

  • Work with speakers and marketing to determine the most important points to sell the webinar

  • Create titles that will work best in the market

  • Work closely with the Member Resource Center manager to build the database of Subject Matter Experts.

  • Network and call speakers to determine what they have recently spoken on, if strengths are real, what they believe is the most pressing and urgent topic in their field of expertise.

  • Maintain accurate database and frequent contact with pool of speakers.

  • Run the preconference planning call.

  • Work with marketing to determine what information will be needed to make the webinar successful.

  • Call and talk with several speakers every day.  Must have the gumption to be able to talk to speakers in a polite but persistent business manner.


Requirements:



  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 5-7 years experience conference/webinar planning

  • Extensive experience interviewing and coordinating potential speakers

  • Proven experience of active scheduling with outside vendors/contractors, negotiating fees and legal requirements.

  • Cold-calling and sales experience a plus.

  • Confident, strong leadership and teamwork skills required.

  • Must be highly self motivated with the ability to work autonomously with great follow-through.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must possess a high level of professionalism.
