JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Director/Director will be responsible for developing global strategic plans, in collaboration with regional marketing affiliates, for in-line and pipeline products within Astellas’ oncology portfolio. This will include product positioning, branding, sales forecasting and life cycle strategies for assigned oncology products. The position will coordinate global pre-launch and launch activities to prepare Astellas’ oncology products for market success. The Sr. Director/Director will work closely with regional marketing affiliates to ensure appropriate implementation of the global marketing strategy.
The position will lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with regional affiliates to conduct opportunity assessments and making of strategic recommendations regarding new compounds from research and business development opportunities. The position will be responsible for developing target product profiles, ensuring that products meet customer needs and are well positioned against the competition. The position will collaborate with clinical, regulatory, project management and regional marketing affiliates on the development of key strategic recommendations
Responsibilities
• Establish strategic direction, planning and development of global marketing strategies and tactics in order to meet market and competitive conditions.
• Establish marketing goals and objectives to support appropriate share of market and profitability for products at global level.
• Plan, align and coordinate the global marketing strategy for Astellas’ oncology products, in collaboration with regional marketing affiliates.
• Develop long- and short- term global marketing plans and programs to help ensure the profit, growth and expansion of products in the global marketplace, including Lifecycle Management Strategies, in collaboration with local affiliates.
• Identify and manage relationships with global key opinion leaders, medical associations, professional conventions/congresses (e.g., ASCO, ASH, ESMO, EORTC, etc).
• Serve as a member of assigned project teams and maintain a high level of knowledge with respect to project status, timelines and decision criteria.
• Prepare and maintain a complete and up-to-date commercial assessment on all assigned products including life cycle planning activities when appropriate.
• Interface with clinical, project management, regulatory, and regional marketing affiliates in developing the Target Product Profile and Product Scheme Sheets for assigned product and ensure that development activities are aligned with these.
• Provide commercial insights for business development opportunities, including timely review of products and companies, analytical support, and resultant recommendations on next steps.
• Support the Global Head, Oncology in assessment of Astellas’ oncology portfolio planning and management evaluations.
• Assist the Global Head, Oncology in development of Astellas’ oncology franchise strategy.
• Work with market research to identify information needs and develop appropriate market research projects to address these open questions.
• Work with public relations, ad agencies, other outside vendors to develop and execute pre-launch market preparedness strategies and tactics for assigned compounds.
• Manage vendor relations to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
• Participate in strategic alliances with partner companies, where necessary.
Requirements
• Minimum 7-10 years of pharmaceutical/life sciences experience in, preferably, a strategic marketing, new product development, business development, or similar role
• MBA or advanced science degree
• Oncology commercial experience
• Global commercial experience
• Previous co-promotion experience
• In-depth understanding of the clinical development process

• Comfort working in a high-paced and evolving environment/industry
