JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Position:


 


The Product Manager will be responsible for leading the global strategic and product marketing functions at at the company for the assigned products in multiple markets to maximize sales revenue, market share, and margin.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Responsible for the product strategy, product roadmaps—including driving the related new product development priorities until they reach advanced prodcut development milestones

  • New product launch materials, commercialization strategy, and communication of availability and pricing to the market.  Well developed product roadmaps and commercialization strategies will depend on robust Voice of the Customer (VOC), value chain analysis, competitive analysis, and engagement with regional teams in target markets.

  • Responsible for product phase-in and obsolescence plans and management/communication thereof within the division and with external stakeholders (channel, customers, sales & support teams). 

  • Development of pricing strategies that align with market positioning and product portfolio strategy—including setting list prices and channel net pricing after discount and promotion to achieve target end customer price levels. 

  • Global responsibility to ensure consistent pricing across markets.  

  • Responsible for the development of product line strategic plan, fiscal plan (budget), monthly forecasts and countermeasures as required.

  • Act as the primary interface to engineering and operations for day-to-day product maintenance. 

  • Serve as technical interface between sales/channel partners/customers and engineering. 

  • Develop training materials to allow sales and commercial marketing to handle most routine technical questions. 

  • Provide technical support on large, complex sales opportunities. 

  • Prepare special reports on new markets and conduct field research as needed. 

  • Reports to: Vice President & GM

  • Key Relationships: Works closely with Regional Sales Directors globally, Director Engineering, Product Managers,  Engineering Program Managers, Market Development Manager, Factory Manager


Requirements: 


 



  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive marketing experience with a world class  industrial manufacturer.

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to grow a business in global markets by working with a regionally managed global sales force, channel partners and end customers. 

  • An understanding of product line management and marketing concepts, and demonstrated competence in applying these principals to achieve business plan objectives is required. 

  • Bachelors degree required, MBA desired but not required.
