VP – Marketing


 


The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible for creating a future-oriented go-to-market strategy to drive brand equity and future enrollment and revenue streams for Capella University.  The position will report to the Vice President, Marketing & Portfolio, and will work closely with the existing marketing leadership team and functional leaders across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:
- Building a deep knowledge of Capella’s target audience(s) and serving as a customer champion internally and externally
- Understanding innovation in brand-building and digital marketing in partnership with the current marketing organization
- Articulating a next generation go-to-market approach that brings Capella’s strategy for differentiation to life through new go-to-market models and reaches long-term targets for profitable growth
- Defining an implementation/integration plan for future strategy, in partnership with the existing marketing leadership team


 


Qualifications:


- 10+ years of leadership experience with forward-thinking consumer brands; broad experience in service industries and/or high-involvement purchase models strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of digital marketing, including display media, search engine marketing, social media and online communities, and affiliates/aggregators
- Demonstrated ability to create breakthrough, future-oriented strategies and successfully translate them into implementation across multiple stakeholder groups
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and organizations to deliver measurable business results
- A positive change agent with demonstrated ability to lead change on an enterprise level
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and partner at all levels, including the executive team and Board of Directors
- Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to use data to evaluate the results and impact of marketing programs
- Ability to attract top talent and a history of successfully developing and motivating effective leaders
- Has an active external focus. Is able to ¿see around the corner¿ and identify key insights and trends among consumers, competitors and the broader category
- Fosters an environment of innovation in all aspects of work.  Challenges the status quo, values different perspectives, is eager for experimentation and intelligent risk-taking that delivers breakthrough business results.


 


 


 



 


This position is based in Capella’s corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota and relocation assistance is provided.
