JOB DESCRIPTION
The Battle Command Operating Unit in Carson, California is seeking a proven Business Development Representative to identify business opportunities within the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities associated with the identification and qualification of new business opportunities within the DoD market segment. The candidate will be specifically oriented toward software development and integration programs in the areas of battle command, network operations centers, and communications integration requirements within the military battlefield. Identifies and maintains active liaison with all key customers associated with individual opportunities and performs ongoing assessments of requirements. Performs all duties related to opportunity identification and qualification. Identifies key customer contacts, budgets, procurement / technical requirements, investments, applicability of Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) capabilities & technology, NGIS discriminators and strengths & weakness of competitors. Performs ongoing assessments of competitors and analyzes their bidding strategies and tactics. Works with key personnel within operating units to develop notional solutions and high level win strategies for business pursuits. Experience in the following areas is required: BS degree with a minimum of 10 yrs experience, preferably with 5 years of successful business development expertise in marketing systems integration and/or IT services to the DoD community. Extensive DoD experience may be substituted for commercial business experience. Proven programmatic experience, a solid understanding of the DoD market and familiarity with key DoD individuals in that market. Understanding of and experience bidding and winning in the Federal/Civil marketplace. Demonstrated experience identifying, qualifying and winning $20-$100M+ opportunities. Knowledge of battle command programs such as FBCB2, Blue Force Tracking, and FCS are a plus. Knowledge of U.S Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps command and control systems is a plus. Well versed in industry, and able to anticipate market trends and align Northrop Grumman capabilities with winning solutions to help customers meet their mission objectives. Ability to think strategically. Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation skills, organizational and time management skills, and a strong sales/marketing presence. Must be able to clearly present ideas to senior management, line management, and customers. TS or TS SCI preferred. Must be a US Citizen w/the ability to undergo a rigorous background investigation/bachelors degree preferred.
