Global Product Manager - Engines

The Global Product Manager – Engines will report to the General Manager of the Business unit.  The position serves as a key member of the global team and is expected to bring a voice of strategy, profitable growth, operational excellence, product innovation and leadership strength to the team. 

Key responsibilities

The Global Product Manager will have responsibility for growing a global product portfolio.  He/she will be expected to develop the product portfolio and help drive a more impactful global footprint.  They will be responsible for leading the product portfolio and profitability globally in an effort to secure better margins.  

This is a highly visible role within the company, and the opportunity to move into a GM role in the future.

The Global Product Manager will have responsibility for developing and executing the product market strategy and other specific objectives will include:

• Profit improvement, product portfolio management


• Product strategies and plans (including product line vision)


• Product line competitive assessment


• Detailed product pricing (Regional guidelines)


• Program Management for “Application Development” programs

Candidate profile

The successful profile for the position would include the following characteristics:

• Global experience managing a product portfolio


• Must have experience working with the Engine Platform


• Experience in an industrial environment


• Successful track record of improving profitability, and driving a global product offering


• Clear understanding of the commercial side of the business, and strong sense of financial acumen


• The successful candidate will have demonstrated a leadership style which includes:  creating a strategic vision, and developing and communicating an execution plan to meet that vision.


• The candidate will have the ability to efficiently and effectively function and navigate through a matrix structure.
