An established supplier of leading edge technology for the Molecular Diagnostics market is expanding.  This established, profitable manufacturer of innovative tools used in the Life Science industry needs an experienced marketing professional to build a new commercial team.  If you’re looking for a direct path to General Management in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization, this could be the opportunity for you.  For over 15 years this organization has served the academic, biopharmaceutical and molecular diagnostics market with unique technologies, and they are now poised to expand their product line dramatically.   This is an exciting work environment where their teams have unusually strong personal chemistry.  With dozens of new tools for molecular diagnostics and genomics to launch over the next three years, they need a marketing professional with strong leadership skills who can bring strategic direction and vision to this evolving organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing will develop strategies and implement plans for current and next-generation clinical diagnostics products.  You will evaluate opportunities and develop market strategies for companion diagnostics, pharmacogenomics and OEM molecular diagnostic technology.  Customer segments include reference labs, hospitals and partnering diagnostic manufacturers.  You will define the product portfolio and mange the Life Cycle for your brands, and have full P&L responsibility – including operational and manufacturing decisions.   Ultimately it will be your responsibility to drive the strategic planning and tactical execution for the entire product line in the clinical diagnostic segment.

As we move from a technology based organization to one that is market drive, we need savvy marketing leaders who have been there before.  This is a high profile role where you will collaborate closely with colleagues in R&D, Sales and Finance, and your team will be expected to work closely with customers to stay abreast of the changing needs in the Molecular Diagnostics community – including needs for instruments, reagents and software.  

In addition to budgeting and market positioning duties, another important responsibility will be to evaluate and implement licensing and acquisition strategies for the company.   With this breadth of responsibilities, we need someone who can inspire and lead others through these times of changing market conditions.  Our rapid rate of expansion means that significant opportunities exist for career advancement and professional development. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following attributes: 

• 7+ years of marketing experience in the Molecular Diagnostics business


• Experience commercializing and launching new technology


• 2+ years of supervisory experience of marketing personnel


• Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills


• Bachelor’s degree or better in a scientific discipline; MBA or PhD preferred

SALARY: $150,000 - $180,000

BONUS: 20%
