As mobile devices continue on their path to becoming the world’s most widely used platform - increasingly personal, portable, powerful and ubiquitous - Microsoft is investing to become the leader in the next competitive battlefront.
We’re looking for a superstar with an excellent track record and knowledge of internet advertising, search and/or mobile advertising to step into a key position driving creation and development of a profitable ecosystem of top-tier advertising agencies, mobile software developers and syndication partners to accelerate revenue and share growth for Microsoft’s mobile advertising and search business. Direct experience in internet or mobile advertising and with top-tier advertising agencies, mobile software developers and/or media publishers is a requirement for this position.
The ideal candidate will be passionate, results-driven, team-oriented and have outstanding business judgment. S/he will also have a strong track record of revenue and execution results, demonstrated connectivity with key advertising agencies and industry partners, and the ability to lead key initiatives from incubation to scale. This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity to help build a significant line of business for Microsoft and drive mobile advertising and search market development overall.
Key responsibilities include:
• Drive creation and growth of market-leading mobile advertising & search ecosystem in North America. Lead for Product Management managing overall ecosystem roll out and business plan for key strategic advertising agency partners, mobile software developers and partner syndication network.
• Develop repeatable direct and indirect execution strategy and models for evangelizing, engaging and activating key ecosystem partnerships and their customers to grow use of mobile advertising and search media. Drive best-in-class management, marketing and operational model to achieve marketplace scale.
• Incubate innovative mobile advertising solutions and expand Microsoft footprint with select strategic agency partners. Strategize, plan and execute targeted agency account engagement program leading to vertical design wins and business pipeline acceleration in partnership with product line managers/sales.
• Understand mobile developer and application channel monetization dynamics, own mobile developer syndication business plan and relationships with key developers. Actively manage virtual sales/marketing team delivery and partner with Business Development to source, negotiate and onboard key partners.
• Operate as ecosystem business owner driving to exceed North America P&L goals and path to profitability. Continually improve the team’s use of business metrics to optimize ecosystem results and provide consultative management for emerging global opportunities.
• Act as a strong evangelist and subject matter expert for Microsoft. Support market education, visibility and thought leadership via direct engagement of agencies, advertisers, partners and market influencers.
• Advocate for market and ecosystem needs in the planning of new products and solutions. Establish strong collaborative external and internal partnerships with marketing, sales, engineering, service counterparts.
The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of product management, marketing, advertising agency/ecosystem and/or business development experience. S/he should have a deep understanding of online advertising products, SEM or other interactive media experience with an ideal emphasis on mobile. Graduate/advanced degrees preferred though not required.
