JOB DESCRIPTION
We are global leader in supply chain process integration and collaboration located outside of Philadelphia, PA and seek a high energy product management professional
Responsibilities:
- Develop, gain approval and lead execution of short-term and long-term product/solution strategies which maximizes revenue growth and profitability. Strategy matters include: Pricing, Market Share, Product Roadmap/development schedule; Timelines; Competitive advantage information.
- In the creation of a new product, lead the coordination of gathering the costs associated with deploying the new product and assist sales with the go-to-customer pricing for the new product development (when client funded development; Optimize customer / sales requirements (many features at lowest possible price) and internal realities (scalability, reliability, costs, implementation, support, etc) when developing product requirements. Define the optimum result; and project manage the deployment.
- Responsible for defining market requirements for new products in logistics from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers, prospects, vendors, competitors, and analysts.
- Collaboratively working with development to define the product requirements and release requirements that optimizes stakeholders versus company needs as well as with implementation and client support to ensure that these departments are educated and trained on the product to deploy and support the product.
- Manage the costs (through collaboration with development, implementation and customer support) new product development builds and product improvement projects to ensure that the project costs are as planned.
- Support the sales and marketing department by performing pre-sales activities (client demos, definition of opportunity) and creation of sales collateral.
- Identify and track the competitors (features, pricing, trends, etc.) and integrate into the product strategies ways to gain advantages on the competitors. Ensure sales know and understand this to compete in the market.
- Develop a market analysis for logistics through synthesizing data inputs across: vendors, competitors, customers, internal development, operations, client support, implementation, and sales.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fields a plus, MBA preferred.
- 5+ IT experience required, specifically in Software as a Service company.
- 3+ years experience in product management.
- Experience in logistics preferred, specifically in a manufacturing company (chemicals or rubber preferred).
- Effective communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally, written form with all levels of the company, persuasive writing to create business cases for new products preferred.
- Demonstrated motivational skills and leadership ability.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Detail oriented while able to analyze data in a complex environment, with numerous interconnected flows of information.
- International travel required (10%).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
