Director, Product Marketing

Wimba, Inc. is seeking a Director of Product Marketing, reporting to the Co-COO.  The Director of Product Marketing is the owner of our ’Go to Market’ strategy for our software and services solutions.?This experienced software marketer will be a highly motivated, results-driven product marketing leader. This individual will effectively engage Product Management, the Sales Organization and liaise across organizational levels to ensure our "Go to Market" success!

• Develop strategic marketing plans and drive their execution
  
  
  
  • Define and engage the target market based on a deep understanding of the different market segments and their needs, how our solutions meet those needs, as well as addressing the competitive landscape.?
  
  
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications and Programs on the execution of the plan
  
  
  
  


• Create positioning, pricing, packaging and differentiation for across the Suite and services offerings to maximize revenue.? 


• Lead product launches for Wimba Collaboration Suite – both new suite packaging as well as new versions of current products


• Partner with the Sales Organization to effectively educate them on our value proposition and competitive differentiation
  
  
  
  • Equip Sales with tools to communicate this to clients at different stages of the sales cycle.
  
  
  
  


• Collaborate with Product Management to design a product strategy in alignment with our value proposition and market opportunities assessment.


• Act as a product spokesperson at conferences and with the press.


• Define and track project success metrics and communicate with key stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of professional experience.


• 5+ years experience in product, channel or segment marketing.


• Experience in academic or collaboration technology market is highly desirable.


• Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. Writing samples will be requested.


• Strong project management and coordination skills; and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment.


• Ability to translate client need into business requirements and software features into client benefits.


• Must have Bachelors degree and be eligible to work in the United States. MBA preferred.


• Experience with Pragmatic Marketing methodology a plus.


• Ability to travel up to 20%
