Senior Brand Manager, Brand and Marketing Strategy Group

 
Lead our stewardship efforts for the portfolio of Microsoft brands while working in a high performing team! In this pivotal position, you’ll be developing and driving the vision, strategy and content to communicate, educate, engage and inspire both internally and to our partners on the brands supported by the Microsoft Brand Management team. If you’re a strong project manager, and are energized by both driving and collaborating, along with creating and delivering content programs that provide informative, engaging stories across multiple groups then this could be the ideal next role for you.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing the vision and strategy behind our primary brand stewardship programs including Microsoft Brand Tools content, brand training, and overall communication plan. This includes being a primary liaison with others on the brand management or brand leadership teams to determine content and timing needs for program implementation and information delivery. You will also work closely with the Creative team that manages the Brand Tools publishing platform and infrastructure. You will be expected to coordinate with other training groups (such as marketing@microsoft) and manage a training calendar to drive efficiencies in brand training efforts. Training needs include working with the team to create modular content, organize content for optimum storytelling customized for different events, delivering training from small to large groups, and recruiting additional presenters.

You will also be expected to develop new stewardship tools, training or other communications mechanisms as needed to provide the most efficient means of getting the information to the desired audience. This could include email newsletters, videos, blogs and other ways to engage with our internal and partner audiences.

You will be responsible for:
Developing the vision for brand stewardship efforts and driving implementation, coordinated across Brand Tools, training, and other means.
Regularly communicating vision and objectives for Brand Tools, training and other stewardship efforts.
Coordinate, schedule, track and evaluate brand training and evangelism activities with internal product groups and external agency partners.
Gather and evaluate feedback from “end users” of training and tools to drive continuous improvement.
Review training and tools content holistically to provide consistent and aligned information between brands.
Recommend content updates and/or drive v-teams on projects to provide specific content updates
Design and deliver PowerPoint presentations, newsletters and other communications.
Source and manage outside agencies when necessary to develop new content or stewardship tools, within budget
Participate on or drive other v-teams completing cross-brand team projects.

This role is not aligned to any one brand, giving you the opportunity to independently drive projects, build v-teams when you need content experts, and engage on other projects across the entire brand team. You’ll be in a position to showcase storytelling, project management skills and creative thinking while also driving for results. This role includes frequent cross-group interaction within the CMG, and occasionally with business groups or agency partners.

Experience:
Candidates should have senior level project management experience along with 8-10 years in marketing strategy and execution either on the corporate or agency side. Business and/or technology brand experience is essential. Creative/design experience is preferred.

BS/BA required; This position has periodic contact with senior CMG management.
