Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to manage Register.com’s online website. This is a unique opportunity to influence and drive revenue by owning this online distribution channel. Register needs a talented individual who will strive to delight our customers, improve efficiency and drive a world class online experience. In this role, he/she will focus on the user experience and will identify opportunities to engage customers and yield repeat visitors. Conducting research for campaigns and marketing initiatives, developing a business case, determining ROI and presenting findings will all be inherent to this position.
This individual should have strong UI experience and a proven track record of supporting business objectives with user data and content strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for research and usability testing, as well as proficiency with wireframes, site navigation and visual design. The Retail Website Manager must be versed in online best practices, consumer trends, SEO, and website analytics. The website leader will need to have a passion for understanding online behavior and a penchant for achieving excellence in the online space.
Principal Responsibilities: (Essential Function)
Responsibility Overview:
UI/User Engagement
- Develop the vision and roadmap for a world-class retail website for Register.com.
- Translate customer feedback and behavior into digital experiences; create benchmarks for evaluating designs going forward and drive revenue growth.
- Partner closely with product management, marketing and technology to lead site development and design wireframes for new and existing features.
- Create customer targeting and segmentation strategies to increase repeat visitors and draw new customers to the site.
- Identify and make use of tools to identify positive and negative conversion trends.
- Ensure consistency in implementation of designs with iterative development of usability and design standards.
Testing
- Develop and implement testing programs to improve site conversion and enhance the customer experience. Consider page to page movement, usability, and customer satisfaction, using web analytics software.
- Validate designs through usability testing.
- Plan and execute before and after tracking and measurements of new release and “bug fixes” to ensure on-going learning through analytics.
Reporting
- Recommend and execute best practices for web tracking.
- Lead site reporting activity including definition of key metrics, development of reporting framework and creation of reports.
- Interpret web analytics data; develop key insights and recommendations to drive business objectives.
Education
- BA or BS Required from a top tier academic institution. Degree in a quantitative area (mathematics, statistics, computer science) a plus, but not required.
Experience
- 5 - 8 Years Overall Business Experience with at least 3 years in web analytics
Critical Skills
- Experience in managing highly-usable, client-oriented, and transactional web-based interfaces.
- Strong conceptual skills and experience implementing innovative user experience solutions.
- Expertise with online analytics measures, terminology, benchmarks, and best practices. Experience with Omniture a plus.
- Strong quantitative and analytical background, demonstrating an ability to collect data, analyze trends, find stories, draw conclusions and make recommendations in a timely manner.
- Experience working with both senior stakeholders and project team-level members and must be able to articulate design concepts and strategies clearly.
- Strong understanding of Internet marketing business models and metrics, marketing analysis, and statistical methods
- Understanding of web architecture and technologies and their relationship to capturing traffic data for analysis
- Design, analysis and documentation of testing and/or surveys.
- Familiarity with current Internet technology approaches (e.g. service-oriented architecture, portal, content management, entitlements, and user-centered design)
- Experience with research methods such as user interviews, surveys, focus groups, and observations.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written); ability to provide concise clear reporting and analysis for a non-analytical audience; strong interpersonal and team skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, abile to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and successful in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with an e-commerce or subscription site a plus.
