Become a part of history in establishing the new long term growth plan for Microsoft’s flagship product. Design the next generation pricing strategies to innovate how Microsoft goes to market with Windows + Windows Live.
Windows generates approximately one-third of Microsoft’s revenue and two-thirds of its profit. Though the product has historically enjoyed sustained year over year growth we are at an inflection point. We must address heightened competitive pressures, shifting customer preferences, emerging business models and channel pressures.
We seek a determined, creative, analytical and experienced business leader to join us in developing pricing, positioning, and business/revenue strategy for Windows and Windows Live. This individual will have a key role in influencing decisions that impact significant P&L at Microsoft and throughout our global ecosystem.

What should the Windows business model, offer framework and pricing strategy be to maximize the opportunity for:
o Customers sub-segments: internet cafes, refurbished PCs, students, small businesses?
o Partners: Retail, System Builder, OEM
o Form Factors: Low cost PCs, MIDs, Net books, Scenario Enhanced PCs, Mid-range PCs
Is pricing the most effective lever for reducing Windows piracy?
What is the best use of incentives in our ecosystem?
The successful Strategy Manager will possess boundless initiative while thriving within a fast-paced and challenging environment. You should have a strong background in problem solving and analysis and be able to provide structure to undefined business problems while integrating market dynamics and business objectives into clear market-changing strategies. You must be experienced in successfully communicating and driving alignment among senior executives while facilitating organizational alignment and momentum towards recommendations and approaches.
Minimum Qualifications:
With a strong finance/analytical foundation, you need to demonstrate a track record of clear strategic thinking, problem solving, data-driven decisions, extraordinary business analytics, and the ability to inspire confidence in senior leaders and motivate members across a virtual team. This position requires extensive cross-group coordination and outstanding written and verbal communications is a must. A process-focused aptitude, the ability to deal with ambiguity and attention to detail are also requirements of this position.
A minimum of 6+ years experience in business planning, strategy consulting, product management, or relevant experience is required. A Business Administration degree with a concentration in Business Management, Finance, or Marketing is ideal. MBA preferred.
