Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development, this newly created position will be responsible for bolstering strategic competency for all Millipore businesses by understanding the customer base deeply and formulating strategies and building capabilities for growth. The broad scope of this assignment includes all facets of the strategy and business development for the businesses within Millipore. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with an opportunity to shape the future direction of the company.
Ideal Experience The successful candidate will have an MBA with three to five years strategy consulting experience with blue chip consulting firms. The candidate could also have subsequent experience in a corporate development or strategy role. Biotechnology background, global experience, and experience with emerging markets would be ideal. The candidate must possess outstanding analytical and problem solving skills. Experience should include segmenting the markets, deploying tools and processes that unearth customer needs, analyzing competitive trends, identifying product offerings, devising channel and pricing strategies, and working with the divisions on executing the strategy within the organization and marketplace. Experience in identifying, qualifying, modeling growth through acquisition, and knowledge of venture investments and start up companies in Biotechnology is preferred. The candidate should currently be on a “growth path” within his/her own organization, indicating the capacity for increased responsibility.

Requirements:
• Bachelors degree and MBA with 3+ years of experience in corporate strategy and/or consulting roles.
• A strong understanding of life sciences industries and life sciences technologies is strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong work ethic and drive for success.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically and strategically.
• Team player.
