Director of Product Marketing


 


This is an outstanding opportunity for a skilled marketing professional to take ownership of and develop a core vertical practice in the Network Service Provider, ASP and Managed Service Provider market for a well established, successful data center and internet exchange company


 


 


 


Position Summary:  


 


The Director, Product Marketing Core Verticals manages the development of products and services focused on driving success in the network service provider, ASP and Managed Service Provider markets that accelerate top line growth and meet the corporate revenue plan.  The Director identifies opportunities based on customer and market insight and interacts with marketing, product development, sales, finance, vendors and partners to deliver winning offers and go to market strategies.  Responsible for hiring and managing the product marketing team.


 


 


 


Job Responsibilities:


 





  • Create a detailed annual strategic and tactical Product Marketing plan for the business.



  • Build product and core market industry verticals revenue, product roadmap and go to market plans and interlock with other corporate departments.



  • Understand target customers’ key business drivers which are addressable by current and potential  offerings.



  • Manage customer satisfaction surveys, win/loss analysis, market research, market share, and competitive analysis research.



  • Manage development of PRD/MRD process and documents.



  • Manage development of pricing and positioning process and documents.



  • Develop and manage go to market plans and sales training program.



  • Understand sales cycle and map success rates by stage.



  • Measure and report on success of marketing plans.



  • Develop, organize and manage a product marketing team.



  • Develop and manage communications and process alignment with other corporate departments.



  • Develop and manage third party partnerships to enhance product and service offerings.




 


Job Knowledge Required:    


 





  • BS in marketing, business, or a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and technical/professional experience.  MBA a plus.



  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of communications service providers, technology service providers, and cloud/SAAS/ASP service providers business environments, technology infrastructures and current trends and challenges.



  • Minimum 8 years of product marketing experience in technology, telecommunications (experience supporting data networking products is preferred) or a related technical industry.



  • Minimum 3 years of management experience within a technology or telecom Marketing organization.



  • Demonstrate success in creating customer segmentation, competitive analysis, defining market trends and growth, offer differentiation, pricing and positioning.



  • Demonstrate proficiency in quantitative and financial modeling.  Familiarity with concept of statistical analysis.



  • Demonstrated ability to lead and organize cross-functional meetings, projects and people in a professional manner.



  • Demonstrated assertive, persuasive and creative problem solving and project management skills.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.



  • Proficient use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, flowcharting, desktop publishing and email software.



  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to produce strong business results.



  • Travel required.
