JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Director of Customer Base Marketing will be responsible for the marketing strategy and execution for the Peachtree product line. This position is focused on installed base marketing and will manage a team who is responsible for all marketing efforts to the installed base. This is a highly visible position which requires a driver of strategy as well as execution, a collaborated team player who is able to develop effective internal cross-functional relationships and exhibits a high degree of leadership capability. This position is responsible for more than 70% of the total Peachtree revenue. Peachtree is one of Sage’s top products. Responsibilities
- Key Objective is to drive the marketing strategy and execution for the Peachtree installed base.
- Lead a team of marketing specialists who develop and execute around the appropriate marketing mix and activities to achieve budgeted revenues.
- Determine overall installed base marketing strategy related to the Peachtree product line.
- Responsible for producing and delivering presentations and information to executive staff.
- Responsible for setting strategy as well as some execution on strategy.
- Determine segmentation of existing customer base to receive specific marketing messages.
- Determine pricing and offers to various segments of Peachtree customers.
- Determine advertising mix (mail, e-mail, web presence, and all other forms of advertising communications to this segment).
- Owns approval of creative approach in all advertising mediums related to this product line.
- Act as key liaison to product marketing related to feedback on the product line.
- Drive appropriate programs to sales channels and work in partnership with sales leadership to insure sales teams have adequate programs, tools, training, operational processes, and product knowledge related to this product line.
- Act as key liaison with other cross functional organizations (i.e. IS, BRG, Finance, Customer Loyalty, Support, Training); ensuring all necessary cross functional dependencies are executed in support of the marketing plan.
- Act as key liaison to third party relationships in support of marketing the Peachtree product line. This includes advertising agencies and any third party partnerships.
- Stay on top of industry and market trends in technology, sales and marketing and B2B software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in marketing.
- A minimum of 4 years leading a marketing team and driving marketing strategy.
- Strong knowledge of general marketing principles, including marketing strategy, pricing, promotion, advertising, and distribution.
- Strong management and leadership skills. Ability to lead a dynamic team to deliver on all key objectives across a variety of products and services in the Peachtree portfolio.
- Must possess excellent analytical capability.
- Must posses the ability to quickly grasp all relevant data associated with this product line, draw critical conclusion about key trends, causes and effects of sales and marketing activities on overall results.
- Ability to provide clear direction and feedback in a professional constructive manner.
- Ability to grasp and demonstrate strong knowledge of the small business software industry, including key customer behaviors, competitive environment, industry best practices, etc.
- Strong project management skills are a must.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must - both in written and verbal form.
- Ability to manage relationships across multiple cross functional departments.
