• Identify new product ideas and improvements for the product line, build the appropriate business case to justify the investment, and manage the process to gain approval for project funding.
• Define customer and market requirements, validate development assumptions through market research and devise a staged market delivery strategy
• Develop and implement marketing strategy and tactics, promotional and sales support activities for the product to meet forecasted revenue and expense budgets and to establish and sustain competitive advantage.
• Work with Sales and Marketing Communications to create effective educational, promotional and training programs.
• Have strong analytical abilities and a solid understanding of the P&L to develop strategies and programs to drive increases in revenue and profits.
• Work with Sales Department to determine criteria and best customer sites for new product releases.
• Work closely with Product Management to develop clear forward-looking product integration strategies and to eliminate duplicate development efforts.
• Provide assistance in coordinating and conducting design reviews with Implementation, Customer Support, Field Service, and other Customer Operations departments throughout the system’s design and development process.
• Work with sales and all customer departments including documentation, training, implementation, help desk, upgrades, and service to ensure available and timely resources and excellent customer support for existing and new products and releases.
• Prioritize features and functions for product releases working with Technical Product Management on customer needs, sales issues, competitive issues, etc.
• Deliver both internal and external presentations on status and future strategies for the product.
• Responsible for the development and ongoing update of forecasts, product marketing plans and competitive intelligence database.
• Perform other duties as required.
Specialized Knowledge / Skills:
Record of achievement in developing functional specifications for technical product and new product launch experience. Strong communication and leadership skills essential to delivering results in a multi-company, multi-product environment. Strong understanding of business models for the company in determining and delivering products and releases with high impact to revenue and income goals.
Education / Training: Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related Discipline. Masters Degree in relevant field preferred. Proficiency on personal computers specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, etc.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Business Experience: 7-10 years of experience in the medical device industry. Comprehensive knowledge of product management and the implementation of technical systems with customers, marketing and sales practices and procedures and the global awareness of the factors that impact the healthcare industry on a national basis. Experience in the launch of new products to customers in alpha and beta locations.
