The Microsoft Learning Product Development Group is looking for a Director to drive the next generation of Microsoft Press and eBook business to include new learning modalities for online and offline self-paced learning solutions.
We need a creative, results-oriented Director to help drive the next wave of growth and innovation in the self-paced learning space. You’ll lead a team of product development and marketing managers, working in partnership with the audience marketing & sales organization, our development team, executive staff, and key stakeholders around Microsoft to assess customer needs and design new products, learning programs, and online experiences. You will work with publishing and channel partners to develop and manage the business relationship supporting, product development, marketing and channel distribution.
Responsibilities:
This position leads a team responsible for defining global book/ePublishing strategic direction in the market place, owns business results, and drives learning product development. The director will define product line definition, branding, pricing, business requirements, competitive and market assessments, product and learning services roadmap, and work with engineering and marketing/sales teams to develop and deliver them. This role is responsible for leading the creation and management of detailed learning product portfolios; setting fiscal year goals for product portfolio reach and revenue; and setting/maintaining all operational and market performance metrics. The individual will maintain a strong relationship and regular communications with stakeholders and business partners, and senior management.

This individual must have experience managing a product line P&L and experience in the book industry. The ideal candidate will be a top-notch strategic thinker and a results-driven leader with a passion for execution.
You should have at least 8-10 years of product management/planning/marketing experience with at least 5-7 years of management experience. Knowledge of IT Training, Publishing, and Certification industry and products and channel partner business models is highly desirable. Specific experience in driving successful program or product launches is required.
