Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management (ML GWM) provides advice-based wealth management services and products to individual clients and businesses.

ML GWM serves the myriad needs of high-net-worth individuals and small and mid-sized business owners. Nearly two-thirds of assets under management come from relationships with clients who have investable assets of $1 million or more. The ML GWM business model is based on our network of more than 15,000 financial advisors (FAs) in nearly 700 offices around the world and the one-to-one relationships they develop with their clients. 

U.S. Business Development & Strategy (BD&S) partners with ML GWMs lines of business to identify and address critical business issues, to shape the strategic agenda for the company, and to develop practical plans to capture growth opportunities across client segments, markets, products and regions.

The group is responsible for advising on U.S. strategy and works directly with senior management both domestically and internationally.

• Lead projects and manage teams consisting of BD&S VPs / associates / analysts as well as key line of business and support partners to develop ML GWM business strategy.
• Present conclusions derived from projects to senior firm management and advise business leaders on real-time actionable issues.
• Advise lines of business on projects that are big-picture and strategic in nature (i.e., shaping overall business direction and market participation) as well as imminently executable (i.e., detailed financial planning and modeling).
• Contribute to the evaluation of geographic and business expansion options to support transformational revenue growth.

• Minimum of 12-15 years work experience in Wealth Management in strategy or LOB role
• Strong leadership skills; team player / mentor / motivator / thought leader who is able to bring together people and perspectives to reach new solutions and build confidence and trust with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
• Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
• High-energy individual who combines wealth management business perspective with financial acumen, strategic thinking and strong operational skills.
• Comfortable with effectively navigating a multi-faceted financial institution with a complex range of products and a wide array of personnel.
• Entrepreneurial initiative, determination and energy to contribute, coupled with a commitment to the highest quality standards and attention to detail.
• MBA or equivalent degree required.
