Senior Product Manager, New Business Initiatives
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Product Manager, New Business Initiatives should be an expert at uncovering unmet customer needs, developing actionable customer segmentation/understanding, and converting those into actionable and measurable commercialization plans. Youll have to be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, making tough decisions and the ideal candidate will posses an entrepreneurial spirit and background.

Not only will you be charged with leading us into new business spaces, but youll also lead the "go to market" strategy/plans and the product team. Youll work synergistically with cross functional groups, especially marketing.

The Senior Product Manager, New Business Initiatives reports to a Group Product Manager and interacts closely with all members of the TurboTax and Quicken product, marketing and support teams.

Responsibilities include:
1. Deep "end customer" understanding, particularly around unmet needs leading to a new customer acquisition strategy in order to drive dramatically higher numbers of new customers and subsequent revenue growth. This deep understanding will include:
- Deep market analysis
- Who would use such new products/services, and why?
- What insights can we leverage to drive trial and adoption?
- What benefits/advantages are most appealing to targeted sub segments?
- How can we develop deeper relationships with these customers to retain them and grow their engagement with Intuit?

2. Deep understanding of potential competitors:
- Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats
- Probable marketing objectives, targeting, plans
- How our products/services will beat the competition

3. The ability to prototype quickly:
- Working with your team of engineers, researchers, designers etc, youll be expected to prototype and iterate quickly, embrace failure and continue to learn and iterate against solving the customer need/pain.
- Develop measurable milestones and learning plans for new product/"beta" launches.

Qualifications:

- Product professional with 6+ years of progressive experience
- A track record of demonstrating deep consumer understanding that led to profitable business growth.
- Business success at companies known for building great and profitable new products/services, especially in the consumer and/or financial services markets.
- Track record of success working and influencing a fast-paced, matrixed, multi-unit organization at all levels, being persuasive and effective even where no direct reporting relationship exists.
- Where possible, an entrepreneurial background and track record
- Ability to develop a go-to-market strategy and frame the commercialization requirements to drive cross-functional support.
- Strong prioritization skills enabling the team to do a great job on the right things and empowering them to choose what not to do.
- B.S./B.A. degree in an appropriate field. MBA preferred.
